Live transcript
Transcribe a recording
Turns a finished recording (or an imported Voice Memo) into a timestamped transcript. The model downloads once per device and is kept, so after that it works offline. It takes a while: expect several minutes per hour of audio on a laptop, and longer on a phone. Keep Recall open until it finishes.
On a laptop you can also queue a whole subject: select its folder on the home screen and tap Transcribe all. Leave Recall open and the laptop plugged in, and it works through them one by one (fine overnight).
Timetable
From 20 minutes before a class until 15 minutes after, New recording is named like “Systems Engineering · Lecture 6” and filed in that subject's folder. Imported Voice Memos recorded during a class are filed the same way. If you stop and start again after a break, it becomes Part 2 of the same lecture. Tip: tap Pause during breaks to keep it all in one recording.
